Paisa ("we", "our", or "us") is a personal expense tracking app built for Android. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the Paisa app.

1. Information We Collect

Paisa is designed to keep your data on your device. We collect and store the following:

• Expense data — amounts, categories, notes, and timestamps you enter. Stored locally on your device using SQLite.
• App settings — your budget, fixed costs, name, and preferences. Stored locally on your device.
• Voice input — when you use the voice feature, your speech is processed by your device's built-in speech recognition service (Google Speech Recognition on Android). We do not record or store audio.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To display your expenses, summaries, and spending insights within the app.
• To calculate your safe-to-spend amount based on your budget and spending.
• To parse voice input into expense entries using the Anthropic Claude API (text only — no audio is sent).

3. Third-Party Services

Paisa uses the following third-party services:

• Anthropic Claude API — The text transcript of your voice input is sent to Anthropic's API to identify the expense amount and category. No personal identifiers are sent. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Google Speech Recognition — Used on Android to convert your voice to text on-device or via Google's servers depending on your device settings. See Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage

All your expense data, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not operate any servers or databases that store your personal data. Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all your data.

5. Permissions

Paisa requests the following permissions:

• Microphone — Required to capture your voice when logging expenses by voice. Only used when you actively tap the mic button.
• Speech Recognition — Required to convert your speech to text for expense logging.

6. Children's Privacy

Paisa is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
